Advanced Dietitian - Inpatients

Full time - 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

We’re looking for an Advanced Dietician to join our team at HCA within London Bridge Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.

As an Advanced Dietitian you will have a leading role within our dietetic inpatient service, providing advanced dietetic care within the specialist field of gastroenterology and other general inpatient areas

The Advanced Dietitian role will have responsibility for the nutrition and dietetic management of patients who are having or have had colorectal, upper gastro-intestinal and HPB surgeries, as well as having an active role within the organ transplant service. You will contribute to service development and quality projects. Relevant audit – based work will also be incorporated within their work load, as well as leading training sessions on evidence based dietetic therapy.

What you’ll bring:

  •  BSc degree in dietetics or equivalent.

  • Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Dietetic Association (BDA).

  • Extensive clinical practice at a senior level in surgical gastroenterology, alongside advanced nutritional support experience (including management of patients requiring parenteral nutrition)

  • Experience in the management of renal patients is desirable but not essential. Cover will be required in this area and training will be provided as required

  • Experience in the critical care setting is desirable but not essential. Cover will be required in this area and training will be provided as required

  • Speciality courses e.g. PENG Clinical Update Course (desirable, but not essential)

  • Evidence of CPD e.g. professional portfolio

  • Experiencing of mentorship/supervision of junior members of staff

  • Experience in undertaking and supervising clinical audit and/or research

  • Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating projects

  • Advanced clinical reasoning and understanding of nutritional screening tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to contribute to the development of dietetic practice

  • Sound knowledge of current issues relating to specialist area of dietetics
