Job Title: Senior Staff Nurse – Medical Oncology
Location: The Harley Street Clinic, London
Working Hours: 37.5 hrs per week (Full Time)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits
Are you ready to step into a leadership role at one of the UK’s most advanced private cancer centres? The Harley Street Clinic — rated Outstanding by the CQC — is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our dynamic Medical Oncology team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a 35-bed Macmillan-rated 5/5 oncology unit, spanning two specialist floors. Our multidisciplinary team supports patients with solid tumour diagnoses through a broad range of treatments, including acute oncology, palliative care, radiotherapy, interventional procedures, and radionuclide therapy.
This is more than just a senior nursing position — it’s a chance to truly lead. As a Senior Staff Nurse in our Medical Oncology unit, you will step into a vital leadership role at the heart of one of the UK’s most respected cancer centres. Acting as the deputy to the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the ward, ensuring excellence in clinical care and a seamless patient journey from admission through to discharge.
You will be a role model in every sense — leading by example with your clinical expertise, compassion, and professionalism. Your leadership will directly impact the care our patients receive and the experience of your colleagues on shift. You’ll have the autonomy to make real-time decisions, influence patient care plans, and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that shares your dedication to exceptional oncology care.
Your SACT approval is essential, as you’ll be delivering systemic anti-cancer therapies and guiding others in safe, evidence-based practice. You’ll also be instrumental in supporting and mentoring junior staff, creating a culture of learning and continuous improvement, and ensuring that every team member feels supported in what is both a rewarding and emotionally demanding environment.
This is a role for someone ready to lead from the front — someone who brings confidence, compassion, and clarity to every shift, and who wants to be part of something genuinely meaningful.
At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.
What you’ll bring:
- Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
- SACT-approved and experienced in administering chemotherapy
- Previous experience within an acute hospital environment
- Strong background in oncology nursing
