About the position:
As a key member of the Senior Management team, the Chief Financial Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and assumes a strategic role in the overall management of the facility. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the facility which includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning and workforce planning.
Duties and Responsibility
- As CFO, you will act as financial advisor to the Hospital leadership team, ensuring there is clear understanding of financial risks and opportunities and lead the dynamic and flexible use of financial resources to support the hospitals ongoing development.
- Provide vision, direction and leadership in enabling the facility to achieve its strategic goals and objectives, whilst supporting the teams reporting into you to ensure their delivery is aligned with strategic intent.
- Work with colleagues to maximise the value of resources invested in the hospital, seeking opportunities to review and improve existing models of delivery for both clinical and non-clinical services.
- Lead the hospital’s productivity management by working with the leaders and HOD’s to achieve targets and effectively manage the workforce
- Lead the financial analysis and business case development for major projects
- Coordinate with key consultants to create alignment while maximising margin opportunities
- Work with the facility Senior Management Team and colleagues in Corporate Finance to ensure the facility complies with its financial, accounting, auditing and information obligations and related duties.
- Ensuring financial management systems are in place and sufficiently robust to enable to facility to meets its objectives and report on performance, in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that staffing processes agree with budget i.e. staffing matrices, schedules etc.
- Be accountable for accrual protocol, ensuring all HOD’s are aware of their responsibilities.
- Work with Contracts and International Marketing departments to develop policies and procedures for the extension of packages prices for international patients and monitor compliance.
Skills and experience
- Educated to degree level with a Masters or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Full qualification in one of the individual CCAB bodies or CIMA
- Experience of budget and manpower management.
- Effective influencing and negotiating skills with adaptable presentation skills.
- Well-developed strategy formulation skills
- Highly developed financial management skills so as to sustain and develop the hospital as a successful company
- Experience in the leadership and development of a high functioning team.
